"I had a sword this whole time!?"
will still always be the funniest line in all of the new Masters of the Universe. and its in the first episode. yeah, the show did have other funny moment and one-liners, but nothing ever topped that. they literally had their best moment in the first episode

FUN FACT: I SPENT A TOTAL OF $120 BETWEEN THESE TWO COMICS -- TRUE STORY!!
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on THE greatest Skeletor cover of the entire 1980s decade (IMHO), cover art to "Masters of the Universe" Vol. 1 #12. March, 1988. Star Comics (a Marvel Comics subsidiary). Cover artist unknown.
PIC #2: The flipside to the Skeletor cover -- Cover art to "MOTU" Vol. 1 #13. May, 1988. Star/Marvel Comics. Artist unknown.
Resolution at 1000x1527 & 996x1524.
Anyway, I've been completely obsessed by this Skeletor cover ever since I first laid eyes on it many years ago, and I just couldn't pass up owning the shit when I found it for $80 on eBay a few years back. Didn't even think twice about it, I just bought the shit no questions asked! As for the He-Man cover, that one ran me a bit less, at $40 flat, but it was the proberbial Yin to Skeletor's Yang, so, I absolutely needed to complete the "set," so to speak.

Adora & Catra in the Sims 4!
For the honor of Gayskull Grayskull! I wanted to add more of my favorite animated characters to my personal Sims 4 world and decided that the save file didn't have enough chaos in it so Adora & Catra were born. I really like how both of them came out but especially with Catra as I had to make ALOT of her stuff myself to fix her canonical design. I tried my best to replicate her feline features like her tail and her ears but when it comes to cat ears in the sims you can only make them sit at a certain angle on the model and sometimes it doesn't always fit with the character you are trying to make but that's ok! As always if anyone has any sapphic character/couple recommendations let me know! As of now these sims are not for download but I guess in the future if people really want them I could put them up for download. I will try and include as many downloads down below as I can but if you are looking for a specific item that is not listed fill free to yell at me for it.

Hi :3 I noticed your pfp and description and I just wanted to say I also love Glimmer and it's nice to see someone else who does :D
(I know it's my own fault for getting exposed to a lot of Glimmer hate since I made her do morally dubious stuff in my fic but oh well ^^`)
I hope you have a nice day :3
I love Glimmer - including when she does morally dubious stuff :-)
She's such an multifaceted character. On one hand, she's a fundamentally good person who will try her very best to do what's right. On the other hand she has a thirst for power and a willingness to let the end justify the means. That little whispered "for the honour of grayskull" when they first found the sword speaks so much about her character.
Glimmer rocks :-)

Chinese dramas may have censorship… but they also the Ruoyi Sword Dance.
In which a beautiful girl runs her fingers down a man’s blade, like the entire length of his shaft, then coyly says “you’ve got a good sword”… proceeds to lead him into an intricate floaty dance in front of a large crowd… which inspires her ex boyfriend to start playing zither to accompany them… which inspires an old scholar sword deity dude to jump in with the flute… which inspires their repressed martial arts bestie to leap on the rooftop and bust out some poetry. The whole thing ends with our dancing swordsman holding up his erect sword to the sky (like He Man channeling the power of grayskull), it bursts into a magnificent display of magical qi and flower petals and our girl looks pleasantly spent.
The crowd murmurs in awe, too stunned to clap or cheer cause… I mean… should you?
The dancing couple have publicly consummated their relationship. I consider them married at this point.
As if to second the motion the old scholar sword deity tosses his flute and comes down to officially congratulate the two. He even gives them both wedding gifts.

Like… I can’t make this stuff up. I wish I could, cause I’d be churning out wuxia novels.

My Cults.3d Store Is Open!
Shapeways may be dead, but my designs aren't!
I'm going to be uploading them for printing as test prints are completed.
For now, the first batch is new stuff:
Test prints by Good Morning Cybertron's Blunghole, thanks blung!
I'm launching with a 5-pack of Wacky Weapons with 4mm (Masters of the Universe / Turtles of Grayskull / WWEternia / nearly every other figure between 5.5" and 6") grips!
The weapons include:
Pizza Gutter
Manhole Cleaver
Dire Hyrant
Sewer Scepter
The Rattleshank Sword (based on the Sewer Sword roleplay toy (see below)
Each a blend of MOTU barbarian swagger and good old fashioned Turtle Power, perfect for those Turtles of Grayskull figures, Skeletor's latest scheme, and fun in general.
STLs available individually for $2.50 each, or the set of 5 for $9.
I'm going to be uploading more accessories for MOTU, Transformers, TMNT and just about everything else as I go, with figures, vehicles, and even riding beasts to follow.
If you don't do the 3d printing thing but still want to help out, I've got a paypal.me here, or you can grab me something off my wish list here.
Also, trying a new thing where anything I get off the wish list will result in a sort of 'dealer's choice' design associated with said item going up in the store. if you got me the thing, you get the inspired-by .stl. Process is spoon-dependent.

Karen LaCroix + Donnelly Lifts Dark Cacao’s Sword (CRSL)
I decided to make some Cookie Run Sugar Linkage art to celebrate the release of Tower of Adventures and the new Dark Cacao update!
First up is Karen LaCroix, the Linker of Cream Soda Cookie in Linked Form!
She’s a high schooler and someone who just oozes inspiration when it comes to her fellow students. And she always never asks to speak to the manager- we can get behind that!
Here’s her Civilian Form, btw. I made it in Picrew.
Anyways, the 2nd pic is to celebrate the new update for Kingdom, and it’s Donnelly finally pulling out Dark Cacao’s sword as the final test of his training regime.
And yes, I did pull off a He-Man/By The Power of Grayskull for this pic.
And if you’re asking, “Why does he look like Samurai Jack?”, it’s because this is after he got home from a disastrous Korea trip (It was for work) and he had to do a massive training regimen if he wanted to get back in shape. And this is before his wife, Kiera, gave him a much needed clean shave.

She-ra (2018) Official Merch
I've made a loooong post about She-ra merch and its weirdness, but I wanted to summarize it in the most comprehensive list of official merch for the 2018 Netflix reboot that I could assemble. I'm sure I've missed some stuff, though, so I'll update this if I find anything. Thanks to everyone who contributed, especially Clare and Tippen.
I did deep dives (with pictures and details) on con exclusive and promotion exclusive merch. Basic info on those is included below the read more of this post.
Everything with [L] at the end of its bulletpoint - or an * inside one - has a photo in the long post. I provided links to official photos/listings when possible, but most of them are defunct.
Pins/Accessories/Clothing (active):
A bunch of jewelry (necklaces, rings, earrings) and enamel pins from Han Cholo (+ one iron-on patch). I've seen resellers claim the chibi pins were exclusive to a convention, but they're up on the website. The long post* has pictures of these if they ever go down, and the actual convention-exclusive ones can be found in the con post.
Amazon print-on-demand clothing (+ tote bags and pop sockets) with a lot of different designs that are hidden on the site but still purchasable, see this post for details, and here's the direct link. Once you find a design you like, you can search its name in the regular search bar (for instance, there's a shirt design called "Power Stripes Catra," for that one you have to search just "Stripes Catra") to see all the kinds of items it comes on, usually a variety of tops/outerwear, maybe a tote, and sometimes pop sockets.
Bioworld also had licensed merch, but some designs are hidden on their store page, so the link shows everything available but includes both the reboot and the 80s original. As of writing, they have one lunchbox, two adult t-shirts, one adult crop top, and two youth shirts for the reboot.
Media (active):
A DVD of just the first three seasons (there's a box sleeve version that includes stickers and it's never clear in listings if this is the only version and they just don't show the sleeve or if they're two separate things). This is still for sale at multiple retailers, but there's no way we're ever getting a full boxset.
There were a couple of books: the Rebel Princess Guide, the Legend of the Fire Princess graphic novel, and then some small "novels." These are still available at multiple retailers, but the novels weren't made by the crew and at least some of these contradict basic facts from season one, so they're less canon than many fanfics despite being licensed.
Everything from this point on is out of production and only available via resale.
Toys/Figures (defunct):
Eight fashion dolls. The line had Adora, Glimmer, Bow, Catra, and She-ra (season one version), Battle Armor She-ra (2-pack with a model of Swift Wind featuring their Battle of Bright Moon looks), and a deluxe She-ra & Shadow Weaver 2-pack (SDCC 2019 exclusive). These dolls were supposed to be Target exclusive, but the rollout was botched and now they're collectors' items. There were also four cancelled dolls that were supposed to be part of the line.
Two Super7 action figures in a Catra & Adora 2-pack with limited articulation. They're rare collector's items too, though this time it's just because they were a limited run. [L]
A plastic toy Sword of Protection and shield sized for children. The sword lit up and said "For the honor of Grayskull!" when you lifted it. The gem was semi-transparent and had a picture of She-ra under it. This was a Target and Amazon exclusive (Mattel & Target are always holding hands 🤝). [L]
Clothes/Dress-up/Accessories (defunct):
Four licensed She-ra costumes (season one version) of varying quality: a Target-exclusive one in limited sizes, one from Disguise in a wider range of sizes, one from Party City (as well as a wig and Sword of Protection prop licensed under Classic Media) for children, and one from Rubie's Costume Company (with a season one Catra costume to match, as well as separate accessory packs and wigs for both characters) that was also available at Party City. [L]
Her Universe used their Netflix license to make three shirts, two jackets, an earring set, and a wallet. Photos in the long post* if these links go down (they are discontinued, after all). Bioworld (remember them?) are actually the producers of the earrings with their name rather than Her Universe's branding being found on the backing card.
Hot Topic made a few shirts (like, three. I don't have the primary link for the third design). [L]
Misc (defunct):
Zaks Design-A-Tumbler, a plastic see-through drink tumbler with a sticker sheet provided so you can place the character graphics inside as desired. Features the key character art seen on most other merch for the Best Friend Squad as well as the sword, the moonstone, Swift Wind for the horse girls, and some random sparkles and hearts to fill space. It was available via Amazon and Walmart.
Comcanroll made a Sword of Protection keychain, also defunct. [L]
Beneath the cut are con exclusives and promotional items that were not for sale (at all, or at least by themselves) but that you can still probably hunt down online. Also... still available apps.
I can't believe this is real but there are two apps. She-Ra Stickers is available on iOS and Android and is exactly what you expect: "stickers" (pngs) to send in texting conversations. She-ra Gems of Etheria (also still available on iOS and Android) is a match 3+ game. It doesn't have micro transactions or ads (since, you know, the whole thing is an ad) so it's actually better than most things on the app store.
@tippenfunkaport also made a post about "digital merch" (backgrounds, printed papercrafts, etc) that Dreamworks posted online.
Promotion Exclusives:
I made a separate post for promo-exclusive merch. Things marked with an [L] still have photos in the long post, but photos are better gathered for all of these things in the promo-exclusive post, so please look at that one if any of these interest you.
Lootcrate/Lootwear made a pair of socks, a notebook, and a tumbler all featuring the season one She-ra silhouette. These were only available as part of their subscription service and not for individual sale. [L]
A Sonic kids meal tie-in that featured: magnets of the characters, funko-esque She-ra and Hordak figures, Swift Wind & Imp "straw buddies," and a small inflatable toy Sword of Protection. [L]
The following is promotional material that was never available to the general public:
A statuette of She-ra sent out to family bloggers to promote season four. Very limited due to the tiny production and being fragile. [L]
An equally rare metal lunchbox was sent out exclusively to influencers to promote season one.
Media press kits included a number of items that made it to the public as con-exclusives (see below for more details): collectors cards, buttons, and a foam tiara.
Stickers plugging the Dreamworks Careers' socials were also produced, likely for recruitment. [L]
Gray zip-up hoodies with a small sword on the front (pocket area placement) and a larger logo on the back were made for the crew and never available outside of Dreamworks.
A shirt featuring a graphic of She-ra riding Swift Wind with the She-ra logo in the corner - distribution & source currently unknown. Looks similar but is distinct from an existing Amazon POD design. Best guess is it was given out at an event (con, reviewer promo, employee event, etc), but I'm putting it here since I have no clue where it was from.
Con exclusives (defunct):
I made a separate post for con-exclusive promo items. Some of these still have photos in the long post, but photos and details about which cons they were available at and such are gathered in the con-exclusive post.
Button pin sets (4 sets, 4 buttons each) were at comic cons. These were possibly also available on Amazon for a time but I can't find confirmation on that beyond a backing card logo that could just mean the backing card itself was produced by Amazon. They aren't for sale now either way.
A foam She-ra crown and flat plastic/foam Sword of Protection, handed out at multiple cons.
She-ra socks designed after her uniform (including a cape on the back) seem to have been given out at cons. Photos are only in the long post* because they aren't good and I ran out of room.
There's a number of official poster designs that were handed out (mostly as mini posters) at cons, but most listings online are reprints.
Collector's cards were handed out at cons, probably SDCC.
Temporary tattoos, stickers, bookmarks, and coloring sheets were handed out at Power-Con (years unknown) and possibly other locations, likely those that sold the Scholastic books. [L]
A plastic shopping bag, made to be a disposable advertisement, exclusive to Anime Expo 2019. This one also don't have a photo in the con exclusive post because it's just one of the poster designs already in there, but there is a (wrinkly) photo in the long post*.
#words and things#she ra#merch#spop meta#the fact that the concise post is itself long... listen there's a REASON i didnt add the photos here#it would have been nice and i considered sticking them under the read more but you cant format photos side-by-side on the dashboard view#so it would have ended up a mess that only looked clean on my blog itself#and i would have run out of room pretty much immediately anyway considering hitting the photo limit is why there's so many other posts#so yeah if this becomes a static page than photos can be added but the rebloggable version just has links#okay i think that's everything and all the links are right#welcome to my hell!

Profiles in Villainy Redemption
Catra
A feline humanoid from Etheria, Catra was orphaned in her early childhood and taken in by the sorceress known as Shadow Weaver. Catra became a cadet in the ranks of the Evil Horde, serving Lord Hordak in his quest to conquer the realm and put down the Princess Rebellion. Although she was greatly skilled and shrewd, Catra’s oppositional nature acted as an obstacle in her obtaining the rank of Force Captain.
Catra became close friends with her fellow cadet, Adora. The two were inseparable and Catra harbored an unspoken love toward Adora. As such, Catra was emotionally crushed when circumstances led to Adora’s defection from the Horde so to join the Princess Rebellion. Appreciative of Catra’s abilities and passion, Hordak awarded her the rank of Force Captain and assigned her the task of capturing and returning Adora.
Adora had unlocked the Sword of Grayskull and was transformed into She-Ra, The the Princess of Power. Adora’s return to the Horde was a lost cause and Catra sublimated her broken heart by dedicating herself to an ambition goal. She set in motion a series of schemes that would ultimately enable her to usurp Hordak as the ruler of the Horde.
When Hordak Prime came to Etheria, however, Catra found herself rethinking her attitudes. She aided She-Ra in ultimately defeating Hordak Prime. Herein Catra professed her love to Adora. Adora felt the same toward Catra and the two became a couple as Etheria entered into a new era of peace.
Catra’s tale was different in the original narrative of She-Ra. In this earlier iteration, Catra was C'yra of D'riluth the Third, a powerful shapeshifter and priestess of the Magicats. Assuming the title of ‘Catra,’ C’yra acted as a Force Captain for Hordak. Although an often loyal lieutenant to Hordak, Catra harbored ambitions of her own and sought to conquer Etheria by becoming Queen of The Magicats. She was thwarted in this scheme by her bitter rival, She-Ra, The Princess of Power.
Actress AJ Michalka provided the voice for Catra in She-Ra and The Princesses of Power; first appearing in the debut episode airing on July 18th, 2020. Whereas actress Melendy Britt voiced the villainess in the original She-Ra: Princess of Power; first appearing in the first episode, airing on September 9th, 1985.

So I know Nate says he regrets it, which I’m already taking with a grain of salt, but I’m sitting here wondering WHY Nate designed Mara like this in the first place. Why did he give her blonde hair and blue eyes and a white/gold outfit to make her similar to Adora, and then make her poc with brown hair? Like look, I watched DBZ, I get transformations can alter hair and eyes. But why the uniform and same color scheme too? Either Nate should have kept her poc as She-Ra, or just had her be white and blond when normal. It’s that easy!
Also, I know lore can change with reboots, but here’s the thing, IN EVERY ITERATION, BASIC KNOWLEDGE IS HOW THE SWORD WORKS. And never, in the history of MOTU has the sword done that. For reference, I’m going to talk about the Sword of Power, since there’s more lore, and it’s supposed to work pretty much the same as the Sword of Protection. So… He-Man’s sword transforms whoever wields it, provided they are related to the late King Grayskull, the wielder buffs up and changes clothing. It can also have a range of clothing for different needs. Armor, helmets, pants, stuff like that. Point is, it can’t change the color of eyes or hair or skin. In the 80s, when Adam used it, it did make his hair and skin a bit darker, but he still read as a white blond guy, so it’s pretty inconsequential.
But aside from that hair LENGTH can change, as 80s She-Ra had longer hair, and an alternate Keldor had it shorter. But all colors stayed the same. Also, there has never an assigned color scheme for anyone who used the Sword of Power. Even with different iterations. Hell, even the SWORD ITSELF could change color, allowing each person that was He-Man to be an individual.
Examples:
King Grayskull (200X and Classics)
Vikor
Wun-Darr
Oo-Larr
He-Ro (The First)
He-Ro (The Second) (Son of He-Man)
Adam (It was a sequel series to the 80s)
Keldor (Skeletor in an alternate universe)
Sure some of them were blonde, but that’s a coincidence. Even Keldor, stayed blue with black hair.
And again, this applies to ALL versions. See how a different version of King Grayskull is black and still allowed to be black when he’s He-Man?
So… Just WHY??? The gold and white outfit was unnecessary. And even more unnecessary was switching Mara’s colors. Either have her have blond/white hair, blue eyes, (and maybe white skin, I heard the S1 flashback was an animation error, but I also heard she may have just BEEN white) when not She-Ra, or let her have her gray eyes, brown hair, and dark skin when she is!!! I honestly don’t know when, where, or how Nate got this idea that all She-Ra had to look the same. He said he watched the old stuff, but clearly, he doesn’t know anything about the history. And I know for a fact the First Ones using Mara as a weapon and having the sword take her individuality was NOT planned from the beginning, because Nate had admitted that he WROTE HIMSELF IN A CORNER AND HIS WIFE JUST THREW THE IDEA OF THE PLANT BEING A WEAPON OUT THERE. Nate literally didn’t plan this, it was all made up or pulled out someone’s ass. And the whole Mara being whitewashed thing could have been avoided.
I honestly don't even know, there was soooo much potential, at least Nate regrets it, but like you said she could've kept her dark hair and eyes, but nope!
